Welcome to Anything can happen 2017!

Well, that’s what I’m hoping for anyway. A Fresh Start, a New Beginning, the slate wiped clean.keep-calm-because-anything-can-happen-1

To start with- I went to the shop and bought some wellies. I think my subconscious might be trying to tell me something- that was an impulse buy. Maybe my little jaunt round Talacre taught me to be more prepared than I already usually am for whatever eventualities may occur. It looks like it’ll be an epic five-part video anyway, plus I haven’t updated the five year anniversary like I thought I would.

Another thing I am planning in advance is Dr. Rrr! Series 2. In amongst the tidying and sorting I have not watched much this Christmas. (Really? How about Deep Space 9 series 7, or Brave or Thunderbolt Fantasy, or Doctor Who- The Return of Doctor Mysterio/Hell Bent/Spearhead from space, or Yuri on Ice finale (yes, really!) or even last episode of series 6 of Game of Thrones, what a revelation at the end!)

Okay, I might have watched a few things, but nothing really Christmassy, unless you count Nativity 3 in school or Cinderella in New Brighton, but that was before Term ended. Rogue One doesn’t count as an Xmas film, but saw it twice, the second time enjoyed it a bit more, but definitely more darker than others, about same as ep 3 I expect, but the prequels don’t really count anyway, in my opinion.

So there we go, anything can happen now I’ve got some wellies. It’s like when Ford Prefect tells Arthur Dent in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy that the only thing he needs to survive is a towel, so I guess that’s next on my shopping list.

For now though, I’m eating my first pizza of 2017 and watching the New Sherlock- now there’s an epic combo if ever there was one.

Happy 2017- Get ready and keep your wellies handy, ‘cos anything can Happen!!

Tiglet’s Monkey-ing around for the Chinese Lantern Festival

More Tigcraft for Chinese New Year!

Mr. Tiglet's Blog

DSCF0005To make a change from playing Dynasty Warriors 2 and 3 on the PS2, we’ve been making CNY crafts, a Dragon banner, a dragon streamer a monkey mask and Paper Lanterns too!

Okay, Mrs. Tiglet told me to pay attention to the instructions, so I did, but so intent that I forgot to colour in the Dragon- DOH!

So I coloured in the Tiger nice and proper, though you make it a green Tiger if you like, go on, just do it!

Unfortunately, we were so focused that we forgot to go into Liverpool and to The Blackie for the Lantern fest hosted by China Pearl- A massive Doh!   So sad we didn’t get to play a fantastic game of Chinese Chess (Xiangqi- ‘zeong kei’), do the flash mob dance or see Tai Chi or the Tea Ceremony. But we did video our Tigcraft episode!

But, we have been introduced…

Getting by with a little help from my friends- 5 years of Playworking, blogging and Facebooking along!

imagesMy Fifth Bloggerversary Trailer is up, but I haven’t finished writing a running commentary on all the little bits and pieces, but Today I have been working in my job in Chester for 5 years! Join that with 5 years of Facebooking and Blogging and that’s a triple whammy if ever there was one!

Now that is a worthehile achievement, well, it’s either that or a lengthy prison sentence, but I’ll go with the achievement!

I’ve had a busy summer, but I think getting the Anniversary Trailer uploaded onto Youtube is a great insight into the Journey so far, even though certain things get repeated. The Mona Lisa Twins get three mentions, as does Infinite Whoniverses and Ignite. While the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic, Mersey Comic Con and the Eagles/Falcons/Buzzards all get two!

Tiglet gets a massive seven mentions. But I realised this afternoon on the way to school that the thing I haven’t raved about is the fact that I’m friends with a Gold Medallist from the Olympics!!!

And you’re going to have to wait until I’ve finished the commentary blogpost to find out how!

(Hint- the Tarzan/Quarry bit features him!)

And on that note, I’ll call it a night and have a cookie!

Bye bye Holidays- blink and you’ll miss ‘em!!

My head’s been buzzing like a million Bees at a Bee convention; even a second coffee on a Sunday afternoon has made only a few leave.

It’s been an insane week at Mercer Central; my supposed holiday has gone in the blink of an eye as I’ve had my Nephew’s round every-single-day. I had such a bad case of cabin fever on Wednesday I had to get away for a few hours.

That was a Trek unlike any ever before, as my bus pass was on its final day and I’d been planning on going to Wales, well, that plan had been exterminated faster than a Draconian fleet facing Daleks.

Anyway, instead of going Walton Hall Gardens or doing something simple, I made a start on the Sandstone Trail, a Megahike if ever there was.

I got partway round and decided to join the Eddisbury Way, which is when things got REALLY interesting and saw The Eagles/Buzzards/whatever for the first time.

Hiking in the rain is not that much fun, so skipped the rest and spent next couple of days watching and playing Star Wars-the films/Lego shorts/ Monopoly/ Battlefront 2/Lord of the Rings Chess/Uno/Frustration and Doctor Who Frustration with my Nephews (By using daleks and the set in the new Panini version of Doctor Who Adventures)

Saturday I was planning on seeing the MonaLisa Twins in Liverpool, but thought if I did that bit of the Eddisbury Way I missed, that would be great, little did I know it would turn into an Ordeal. There is something about giving up and turning back when it gets too much, but little old tenacious me decided to press on, even when the path became overgrown and I got my legs scratched and lacerated by thistles/nettles/thorns and goddess knows what else.

BUT, seeing the Eagles again more than made up for it, even though the battery on my camera ran out, so missed a few stunning views on the way to Helsby.

Seeing Mona Lisa Twins was enjoyable, they even played three of my favourite 60’s songs- This Boy (my fave Beatles track!) Jonny B Goode and the Hippy Hippy Shake, so that was amazing, but I was absolutely shattered and hungry, so today’s been recovering and trying to figure out what’s next- I’ve got three milestones coming up- the fifth Bloggerversary/Facebook double bill and Fifth Anniversary of my Job as a Playworker, since after ten years of applying for Media jobs, it was the only offer I had so took it! Didn’t think I’d last that long in Education, but I have! Who’d have thunk it eh?

There are still a bunch of reviews and stories to write, half a dozen videos to take me a little bit closer to the 200 mark, so those might get started on this week. ITA needs updating and Tiglet’s been walking and posing so that’s a start.

Happy Holidays- Blink and it’ll be gone faster than the Millennium Falcon on the Kessel run. Is it me or I have I overdosed on Star Wars this week??

Anyway, I think I’ve finally woken up- at 6.23PM! Think I’ll have a cup of tea!

A GAME OF PAWS-Just when you thought it was safe to go back to Westeros…

Westeros just got too dangerous!!

Mr. Tiglet's Blog

A GAME OF PAWS

Yes The Puppet version! How predictable am I?? (Rhetorical question- never mind!)

 TIGTREK!

Okay, Puppet Les Mis didn’t pan out, Doctor RRR! Is carrying the flag for

Doctor Who, Tigwars and Tigtrek haven’t developed at all,

but there may be a new version of the Tiglet Show at some stage (but don’t hold your breath!)

Maybe I should do something totally different- Maybe it is time for the sequel to Tiglet’s Time Travels??

Hmm, interesting idea, have to see about that one!

MY LAST DAY

DSCF3178

So, another Mid-Day job bites the dust. My days of Santa Spotting, First-Aiding and ball-retrieval from the field seem to be over.

It’s with very mixed feelings that I knew it was time to move on, DSCF3181but I bit the bullet, even though part of me would have liked to have stayed, but commuting two hours and rushing around like the Flash racing Superman first thing in the morning isn’t any fun, at least not these days.

There’s a lot I have done- went to a Wedding and been inspired to write a storyline on Infinite Whoniverses based on Rachel and Dave’s trip to Cardiff, Presented Tiglet to some of the kids, hiked three quarters of the Shropshire Union Canal and explored a whole lot more of Chester. Made it through two Christmases (when it was only supposed to be one!) Been inspired to create crafts, even though I’m rubbish at it! (Thank you Sue and the Hetty gang!) I’ve even had some great Show-And-Tell times, and told a few stories, though my version of Mr. Chatterbox has to be seen to be believed!

So there we go, got an interview on Wednesday, Holiday Club and hopefully Wales to look forward to, as well as the TimeRiders and Robots of Death to revise for IW, but for now am going to enjoy a Special Curry and maybe watch Sleepless in Seattle, though I might catch up on Game of Thrones or Caprica, not sure yet.

DSCF3186

So, My Last Day in Hoole- very nice, though I’ve yet to open the chocolates the kids presented me with, I’m still getting used to the idea of not having to rush around in the morning and may even get a few reviews written, now that would be something wouldn’t it?!

 Happy Half Term Everybody!!

IW- Last of the Timeladies 2- Snowtime like the Present!

The 175th Post on Tiglet’s storyblog!!! Yay!

Mr. Tiglet's Blog

The Last of the TimeladiesIt’s the second of the Last of the Timeladies saga, giving a tiny hint of what’s to come as Daisy Dalek and friends make an entrance!

Once again, the photo inspired the story and Jacklyn Black’s 4th Doctor is awesome! Although technically she’s the 10th, must sort that costuming issue out next time!

In the meantime, here’s the second story of Series 2-

Last of the Timeladies 2

Enjoy!
