A Summer full of shorts (stories that is!)

imagesCA8CH531It’s that time again when I get the usual bunch of short stories sent off to be rejected. Most were submitted in May, but a few done today takes the tally to nine, the most out at one time, I think. Okay, there’s four already ‘out there’, both A Riot in the Library and Inquisition were relegated to being online by the University of Liverpool while Incineration Day was included in Epic Anthology and the Case of the Missing Mince Pies in the Chester Writers Anthology last year. None of them I was paid for, by the way, so I’m still fishing for that elusive, slippery First Commission, wriggling like a fish, if you get the imagery.

So what’s out? Well, The Last Christmas of Planet Earth is with Analog, Time of the Centuroids with Galaxy’s Edge, The Bestiarium, revised three times and probably-most-rejected-story-ever is with 3LBE, Terror of the Centuroids, eight years old this August, is with The Masters Review New Voices, Making the First Move and By the Lights of the Silvery Moons are both with Hearts Kiss. Today I have sent The Band of Firebrothers to Third Flatiron, The Beckoning Call to Apex and SID The RoboDetective to Asimov’s.

Writing is like slogging through treacle, a tough hike that makes you wonder why you bother, although with my hikes I always manage to find something unexpected and occasionally even spectacular. Red Rocks up at Hoylake was awesome last weekend, and I’m looking at going back to film an episode of Infinite Whoniverses at some point. Another example would be the spot I found on the Sandstone Trail last year and the silence was incredible. It’s these little gems that make it worthwhile. With story writing, the thrill is the same, when you find that moment that just gives you a cosmological whammy and it’s something you’ve written. Amazeballs!

Anyway, after writing that I think I’ll head off to the Coast again, because it’s gonna be another glorious day and because life’s a Beach!

Ian’s Travelblogs no more- Beyond 6th anniversary

tvp6aTigletverse Travel and Photography- update

I’ve been reading a bunch of old blogposts from 2011/2012. I did a lot of hiking back then, also writing up where I went to as well. That was before the video blogging, or Vlogging on Youtube.

I’ve never got the time these days, nor an organising principle to get myself, err, organised!

So, I merged both Tiglet’s Travels and ITA in 2016, creating Tigletverse Travel and Photography, with one Facebook page (please Like!) and not much up on Pinterest. BUT NOW ON FLICKR! With Wild Walks on the Welshside kicking off 2018- so far I have been to Wepre Park (twice), Flint Castle, Loggerheads, Llwyni ponds, Bailey Hill in Mold, Caergwrle Castle, Southport and a walk to Another Place for an Awesome sunset, Chester in the Snow and round St. George’s Hall for my Birthday and finally going round Spike Island in the fog one Monday morning, and that was all before Easter!

I have also been along the Bridgewater Canal- Preston Brook section, Etna Park with a bit of the Buckley Heritage Trail, Pex Hill and Blundell’s Hill after a job interview (which I didn’t get!) Liverpool Lightnight, including the performance by Bring the Fire Project. I also saw the Museum of the Moon, which is an artwork based on NASA photographs and seems to be on tour in several places at the same time. I have also taken a few pics of the real thing, along with Sun pictures, including New Brighton and West Kirby Marine Lake.

Event-wise, Wales Comic con was awesome, been to Liverpool museum and an amble round Chester on the Upton Scarecrow Trail.

I have been attempting to catch up on a mass of editing, of both photos but mainly videos, so hopefully will have caught up with those by the end of June, which will bring me to 500 videos, though the next episode of Dr. RRR’s Guide to the Whoniverses is going to be more complex than the Morbius one, so WHO knows when that’ll be completed!

So that’s it, that’s the big update for Spring and the Summer-so-far on the Hiking/Event front.

STAY GROOVY AND SMOOTHIE!

INFINITE TIGLETVERSES- COMING SOON!

itv2I’ve wanted to make some original stories/Films for a while now. It seems whenever I focus on Dr. Rrr/Infinite Whoniverses other things don’t get done- like the Photo/hiking updates

STORIES- They’re everywhere. But sometimes you have to go out and find them.

The good ones, the Best ones are the hardest to find. You have to go further and farther out to catch them.

This year, Infinite Tigletverses is boldly going places never been before, doing something completely different and being more ambitious than ever. Seeking Stories-

And no matter where it takes us,

We’re gonna find ‘em!!

Infinite Tigletverses- Autumn/Winter 2017/2018

Welcome to Anything can happen 2017!

Well, that’s what I’m hoping for anyway. A Fresh Start, a New Beginning, the slate wiped clean.keep-calm-because-anything-can-happen-1

To start with- I went to the shop and bought some wellies. I think my subconscious might be trying to tell me something- that was an impulse buy. Maybe my little jaunt round Talacre taught me to be more prepared than I already usually am for whatever eventualities may occur. It looks like it’ll be an epic five-part video anyway, plus I haven’t updated the five year anniversary like I thought I would.

Another thing I am planning in advance is Dr. Rrr! Series 2. In amongst the tidying and sorting I have not watched much this Christmas. (Really? How about Deep Space 9 series 7, or Brave or Thunderbolt Fantasy, or Doctor Who- The Return of Doctor Mysterio/Hell Bent/Spearhead from space, or Yuri on Ice finale (yes, really!) or even last episode of series 6 of Game of Thrones, what a revelation at the end!)

Okay, I might have watched a few things, but nothing really Christmassy, unless you count Nativity 3 in school or Cinderella in New Brighton, but that was before Term ended. Rogue One doesn’t count as an Xmas film, but saw it twice, the second time enjoyed it a bit more, but definitely more darker than others, about same as ep 3 I expect, but the prequels don’t really count anyway, in my opinion.

So there we go, anything can happen now I’ve got some wellies. It’s like when Ford Prefect tells Arthur Dent in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy that the only thing he needs to survive is a towel, so I guess that’s next on my shopping list.

For now though, I’m eating my first pizza of 2017 and watching the New Sherlock- now there’s an epic combo if ever there was one.

Happy 2017- Get ready and keep your wellies handy, ‘cos anything can Happen!!

Merry Christmas from the Tigletverse!

Well, It’s been an epic few days since Term ended, almost got swept away by the tide on a three-hour hike from Prestatyn to Talacre on Thursday, Friday I tidied, sorted, cleaned, washed up and recycled, as well as last-minute present shopping and today I did a bit more of the same. Honestly, next year I’ll try and get everything done six months in advance, crazy daze!

There is still so much to get done, as well as do some planning for board games and a few videos to edit- including the 300th, but that’ll have to be Boxing Day.

For now it’s a Merry Christmas from the Tigletverse!

Dr. RRR’s Guide to the WHOniverse – IW S4 OVERVIEW AND FANFIC FEST

Mr. Tiglet's Blog

tainted-love-cover-3

I know I know, it’s a bit late- Having an overview/look back at Series 4 of IW and thinking ahead to what’s on the Horizon.

Well, it took a blinking long time to complete! That’s the most obvious point- April until September, well as usual my excuse is that life/work/family/friends/chores/hiking and other sundry stuff got in the way. I wanted to do more, but that all went down the drain, especially trying to finish it. More on that later, but the fact that several stories had been completed/nearly finished meant, or should have meant that it would all go smoothly. It didn’t.

Dr. Rrr was meant to take up the slack, but deciding to just do videos did not help either. My personal favourite story has to be Rose Tyler and the Mannequin Monsters as a World Without the Doctor story. But the biggest nightmare was the Finale, what eventually…

Dr. RRR- Series 1 completed!

I drowned the TARDIS in the summer and finally came up with a story for it!

Mr. Tiglet's Blog

shipwrecked-coverThe last two parts of Series 1 of Dr. Rrr are on my YouTube channel, so give them a watch and a like!

Doctors Assemble was shot at Southport Comic Con, hilarious moment when a remote-controlled Dalek got trapped by a bunch of Cosplayers and Dr. Rrr.

Shipwrecked was even more complicated as I had drowned the TARDIS off New Brighton on two days over the summer, then Roary on a dune in-between Hoylake and West Kirby, then I had the strange notion of having Tiglet as the Masterrr get marooned, so set off for Formby, so that makes it the 50th adventure for Infinite Whoniverses- not bad at all.

So, I’m taking a break- yes Dr. Rrr’s Guide to the Whoniverse may come back, there’s the Halloween Special (with Vampires and OMG- The ending is gut-wrenchingly sad- get the hankies ready!) BUT There is some exciting news- which…
