Ian’s Travelblogs no more- Beyond 6th anniversary

tvp6aTigletverse Travel and Photography- update

I’ve been reading a bunch of old blogposts from 2011/2012. I did a lot of hiking back then, also writing up where I went to as well. That was before the video blogging, or Vlogging on Youtube.

I’ve never got the time these days, nor an organising principle to get myself, err, organised!

So, I merged both Tiglet’s Travels and ITA in 2016, creating Tigletverse Travel and Photography, with one Facebook page (please Like!) and not much up on Pinterest. BUT NOW ON FLICKR! With Wild Walks on the Welshside kicking off 2018- so far I have been to Wepre Park (twice), Flint Castle, Loggerheads, Llwyni ponds, Bailey Hill in Mold, Caergwrle Castle, Southport and a walk to Another Place for an Awesome sunset, Chester in the Snow and round St. George’s Hall for my Birthday and finally going round Spike Island in the fog one Monday morning, and that was all before Easter!

I have also been along the Bridgewater Canal- Preston Brook section, Etna Park with a bit of the Buckley Heritage Trail, Pex Hill and Blundell’s Hill after a job interview (which I didn’t get!) Liverpool Lightnight, including the performance by Bring the Fire Project. I also saw the Museum of the Moon, which is an artwork based on NASA photographs and seems to be on tour in several places at the same time. I have also taken a few pics of the real thing, along with Sun pictures, including New Brighton and West Kirby Marine Lake.

Event-wise, Wales Comic con was awesome, been to Liverpool museum and an amble round Chester on the Upton Scarecrow Trail.

I have been attempting to catch up on a mass of editing, of both photos but mainly videos, so hopefully will have caught up with those by the end of June, which will bring me to 500 videos, though the next episode of Dr. RRR’s Guide to the Whoniverses is going to be more complex than the Morbius one, so WHO knows when that’ll be completed!

So that’s it, that’s the big update for Spring and the Summer-so-far on the Hiking/Event front.

STAY GROOVY AND SMOOTHIE!

WHAT IN THE 7 HELLS IS GOING ON WITH INFINITE WHONIVERSES THESE DAYS AND WHEN IS INFINITE WHONIVERSES – series 5 GONNA HAPPEN??

logo2.x18WHAT IN THE 7 HELLS IS GOING ON WITH INFINITE WHONIVERSES THESE DAYS AND WHEN IS INFINITE WHONIVERSES – series 5 GONNA HAPPEN??

I tried answering that question when I presented THE TIMEDALEK INVASION OF LIVERPOOL PART TWO- AFTERMATH! Featuring Annie Bee a few months ago.

April and the Easter launch never happened, I only completed one story out of six, so I’m trying to get the first three completed. It is hard going. Work is fine, but I’ve got no money and been trying to find some extra income from something, so been concentrating on pitching cv’s and ideas/original stories. It might be the end of July and the holidays when I can get the time to finish them off, and I am behind again on editing photos and videos, as well as blogposts, so I might just do a story a day for a week in August, we’ll have to wait and see. It is ironic, as I outlined the ending back in 2016, so as far as story arc goes, The NeoDoctor and Dark Doctor story should be completed by series 7, but that might be in 2020 now, not the middle of 2019, we’ll just have to see how it goes!

As updates go, I know it leans towards the cryptic side of the Force, but I’m still catching up with stuff from April as well as May, so it’s going to be another busy weekend sorting/tidying/washing/organising/editing and so on. Maybe I just need to clone myself. Yes, there’s the solution!

IW5- AUGUST 2018!!

We’ll get there, eventually!!!

Events- FOR THE LOVE OF SCI-FI- Liverpool Comic Con Edition

033It was yet another manic Sunday as I headed off on an epic journey to the Echo Exhibition centre in Liverpool for a Regeneration of Liverpool comic con nearly three weeks ago.

When I heard that MCM had dropped Liverpool from its roster, I had hoped someone else might take over. Phil from Mersey Comic Con, the first CC event I went to at Liverpool Uni in 2015, OR Paul who put on the excellent Southport CC, or Dave from MSE, or Loz from Hamfest or Alistair from Chester or Jaime from Wales.

Stepping into the breach at the Exhibition centre was Andy who runs FOR THE LOVE OF SCI-FI weekend at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Trafford Park, Manchester. FTLOSF was the best CC of 2016. A perfect way to end the year. I got so many pictures and enough clips that ended up in about half a dozen videos, including two episodes of Dr. RRR and the cosplay group shoot. Funtimes.

December 2017 was less fun. I had wanted to go Saturday and then Wales CC Sunday, but Saturday had sold out because William Shatner was there, so went Sunday. It was a bit cramped and overcrowded, it didn’t help there was queues all over, so I took what photos I could and went back for Movie Wonderland at the end of Christmas, which was like a ghost town, but much better for shooting videos!

Anyway, the week before the event I had strained a muscle in my leg and had been limping to work, so Saturday rested it.

I thought it was much better Sunday, but as I walked up the steps there was a massive spasm and it was painful hobbling round. Think I might have overdone it a bit! Even sitting down for lunch (at £10 for fries, 5 pieces of chicken and a 7up) it still ached, so got a few interviews, although the background chatter was still noisy, but then, the upstairs lounge area wasn’t available this time. I hope that changes for next year. The Arena Stage wasn’t used either, might have been because there was a Gymnastics event on, but I hope the stage area might be moved back in there next time.

So, for a first attempt it was really good, shame I couldn’t enjoy it more as my leg was being such a pain, both figuratively and literally!

I think though there should be a Thunderbirds exhibit next time, as Andy and his team did jump in just like International Rescue

Thanks to Christian W, Andy T and Thomas H for the interviews.

Thanks to Delroy, Mark, and all the Cosplayers!

Thanks Paul, Nic, Sheikh and other stallholders/exhibitors

Thanks to the Andy and the Organisers for rescuing it. And Exhibition Centre staff for hosting.

Also- my favourite moment was being on a Colonial Turbine- the flying bike from Galactica 1980- Thanks Mark, Kev and Phil!

NEXT TIME- TIMEQUAKE!

A TIGLETVERSE PRESENTATION 2018

“THE FORCE IS A BIT ACHEY IN THIS ONE!”

Anything can happen Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 2018!

Well, Last week was certainly eventful. I went walking Monday, after Ellesmere Port comic con on Saturday and babysitting Nephews Sunday, but on Tuesday, woke up feeling groggy and eye was sore and bloodshot and weepy. So I thought it might have been an eyelash or grit in my eye, so spent an hour looking before I got it into my head it might be another detached Retina, which I had about 26 years ago when I was 18 and spent a week in hospital after eye surgery.

Well, that was an unpleasant thought, so headed to my local NHS drop-in clinic. After nervously waiting for about 20 minutes, got seen for Triage (assessment) and then had an eye test, very nerve-racking, but somehow had contracted Conjunctivitis, so had to get eye drops and take the day off school, which was just as well as I felt very tired and groggy, so had a lie down at half four and got up about 8ish!

So, consigned to taking the eye drops every two hours for next few days, I was surprised to find a message from the hospital I’d had the operation for in 1992.

Anyway, got seen by the Eye doctor and had the strangest afternoon because of the drops they put in my eyes to make pupils dilated for a few hours. Honestly, everything was so bright and hazy, too bright, even when I got to school had to close the blinds. BUT doctor said everything was fine and conjunctivitis had cleared up. Happy days!

So in all a mighty strange week. Then I went to Southport on Saturday for a Promo shoot for NWCC’s Southport Comic Con.

But that is a tale for another time, I think!

Ian’s Travelblog Adventures 2017- Where on Earth (and beyond!) is ITA going these Days?

119He might have gone round the wall, off the reservation, into the great big beyond. Those might be some answers I’d have, if I was being the new Mr. Man character- Mr. Sarcy-pants.

Okay, I will admit the hiking might have seemed to have flown South for the Winter and needs a new GPS system to find its way home again. Not that I’ve given up on it, but time, money (LACK OF BOTH), resources (old boots etc) and work has meant putting updates off time and again, though videos have been pretty-well kept updated, it’s been a nightmare, not quite of Elm Street-proportions, but close enough!

So, I merged both Tiglet’s Travels and ITA last year, creating ‘Tigletverse Travel and Photography’, with one Facebook page (please Like!) and not much up on Pinterest recently. The Blog/Storysite badly needs updating, but I thin I may have found a better page/platform for the whole shebang! It is difficult to try and keep things updated, even remotely interesting, but I shall persevere. That brings me to my next point- There is a possibility I’ve been humming-and-harring about over the past few months and I think it’s time to put it to the test, try it out and see if if works, if not, aha well, meandering Mercer will find something else to do I suppose. I’ve been using 500 Miles by the Proclaimers meets metal cover by Eric Calderone, but thinking of changing it, maybe to Rush Hour by Jane Wiedlin, or Manic Monday by the Bangles, but favourite so far is Bon Jovi’s Lost Highway. Just have to see how it goes. Better get hiking then hadn’t I? Just watch out for blisters!

So, there it is the BIG update- I’ve been to Talacre Beach/Dinas Bran castle / Chinese New Year / Went sightseeing with a Friend from L.A. / been to West Kirby Marine Lake for an awesome sunset, as well as from Halton castle. Watch the vids, look at the pics, hopefully on a new platform by the end of the month (or month after that!) and maybe, just maybe, we might get some organisation round here!

That would make a nice change wouldn’t it?!

VDay Blog- Courting Controversy

Here’s something el-presidente might tweet-

Lets play a game shall we? Just for fun.

Let’s call it ‘The Regeneration Game’. It’s a game any Doctor Who Fan can play, or writer/producer/actor, showrunner, whatever. You just have to lose the ability to count. Forget any ability to do simple maths, be a two year old just confused about this weird thing called ‘numbers’.

Actually, it’s a game Stephen Moffat invented, round about the time when he should’ve stepped down and done just Sherlock and Tintin rather than try juggling all three. (and dropping the ball on Who!)

Anyhoo, this is it- the only courting I’m gonna do on Valentine’s day- yes, SHE’S BACK BABY! A hot date with a Red-hot B^*%$! With a bad-A&%$ attitude- so watch out! Obi-Don Drumphioli never got as controversial as me and Miss C.

So, watch out, as we play THE REGENERATION GAME- Coming sooner than expected, or even wanted!

HAPPY VDAY!- WITH FLOWERS!

Chester Comic Con and Superdab Sunday

Yet Another Comic Book Convention last weekend, maybe the last in a while as I have fallen way behind on other stuff and not quite enjoying it as much as I used to. Maybe I just need a break from the whole scene.

One hilarious thing was that I went dressed as Clark Kent, so went round interviewing people for the Daily Planet. Should have planned it more, but got interviews with Jon Snow, The Riddler, Batman, err- Superman (twice) and even a Stormtrooper! Very surreal experience.

I had also taken the plunge and registered for the Cosplay Competition, another first, though it’s the third time I have done it, following Moe Moe Con and Liverpool Anime Can.

I tell you what though, having a cape made it different, though with the wind it wouldn’t behave itself, flapping everywhere. I guess I should be used to things not turning out the way I’d hoped. Still fun to do though. And I even invented a new-Ish move- THE SUPERDAB!

All I need to do is edit everything into some-kind of video and then hang my cape up until something else comes along-

Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane/ Nope- it’s Superdab!

Thanks to Rob, Jonathan and Naomi for the photos and video!
