This Third Doctor Companion Chronicle begins when Liz Shaw investigates a captured Alien computer for UNIT after a couple of people have vanished.
Two other characters are featured, Corporal Foster and Childs.
At first you wonder why Liz never speaks to them at the same time, but always separately, that is a big twist in the second episode, which takes places in the Alien Computer, making it more Inner Space than The Matrix.
The main action takes place as malfunctioning drones try to hunt them down. The solution is logical and well-reasoned, though the characters seem to explain the plot as it develops. With a small cast, this isn’t too much of a bad thing. As I listen to more of these, I have found that unlike the main range, the Companion Chronicles are more experimental, using only a few characters or a single narrator, with some effects, music and actors impersonating other roles.
Overall it is a fine adventure, with an interesting commentary with the Actors, Producer and Director.
