Attack the Block DVD

Aliens Versus the Inner City, where have I heard that before?  Oh yes, that’s right, I did it with Andi the Alien Eliminator script, aka-Buffy with Aliens/Intergalactic Spice.  A Radio version of which can be found in the Portfolio section of this blogsite.

I think Alien Invasion films are becoming as overdone as Vampire/supernatural tales.  ATB tries things a little bit differently. With Ape-like creatures chasing a gang into a LondonTowerblock.

I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it the first time round.  The Gang were initially annoying and quite unsympathetic and there didn’t seem to be much going on, the action taking a while to warm up.  I also found the ‘gang-speak’ hard to follow, but managed, just!

The Beast attacks are gruesome, but the effects are pretty good as Moses and the gang square up and save the Block.  While not as great as Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead, ATB is okay.

I still think my Eliminators script would make a great series though!
